Our Middle and High School students change rooms throughout the day and have different teachers who specialize in each subject.
Mrs. Rachel Leyk, Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry
"I have been teaching for 2 years and truly believe that God has placed me at ACA. My favorite thing about teaching is the 'light bulb moment' when the student finally understands what you've been trying to teach them. A favorite quote of mine sums up how math truly works, 'If I can't picture it, I can't understand it'...Albert Einstein."
Mrs. Sandy Leuthold, Middle and High School Language Arts
"I have been teaching for over 15 years and the reason I teach at ACA is that our kids are the best - they want to learn academics and more about Jesus. We have the freedom to guide the student toward success. I believe that all children lean in different ways. A teacher's job is to ensure the the child is learning - match the learning style to teaching. Learning should be interesting, fun, and engaging."
Mrs. DeAnna Erhard, Middle and High School History
"I have been in education for 6 years and I love it when the students have that 'I get it now' moment! Both of my children go to school at ACA and I teach here because I know that God is working through this ministry. I went to Edinboro University where I was a DJ on the campus radio station, 'Fighting Scots Radio'!"
Middle and High School Science
Mrs. Deborah Levine, Gym
Miss Stephanie Shume, Spanish
This is my first year teaching Spanish at ACA and I love having the chance to be creative. We have a great group of kids here. I want the students to know that learning a foreign language doesn't have to be boring!
Mrs. Becky Murdock, Learning Support
Mrs. Lynn Miller, Music
Mrs. Kymberlee Torrance, Art, Computers, Journalism, and Library
"My children have been going to ACA since my oldest daughter started school in 2000. I have been teaching here since the 2006/2007 school year. Getting to see the children learn and grow is such a privilege. I have so many special memories of little things they say or times that they have said 'I can't, Mrs. Torrance', only to find that they CAN! That is my greatest joy in teaching... showing them that they can do things they didn't think they could."
